Overview

We offer both Curriculum and Continuing Education Firefighter/Fire Protection programs. Curriculum programs are for college credit and in the format of more traditional college degree programs. Continuing Education programs are not for college credit.

Fire Protection Technology A.A.S. Curriculum Program

The Fire Protection Technology A.A.S. is a 2-year, 6-semester program that focuses on the knowledge needed to make decisions about fire protection for both public and private sectors. Topics include hydraulics, hazardous materials, arson investigation, fire protection safety, fire suppression management, law, and codes. Graduates should qualify for employment or advancement in governmental agencies, industrial firms, insurance rating organizations, educational organizations, and municipal fire departments.

Fire Protection Technology Certificate Curriculum Program

The Fire Protection Technology Certificate is a 1-year, 2-semester program in which students are awarded a certificate for completion of certain classes that will be of particular value to officers in fire departments.
