RIBN Program and Financial Aid

RIBN Program and Financial Aid

Summary

How financial aid is disbursed for students in the RIBN program

Financial Aid Disbursments

Nursing students in the RIBN program are dually enrolled at A-B Tech and Western Carolina University (WCU).

If you are in the RIBN program and have financial aid, you will receive all your financial aid through A-B Tech for the first three years, since you will typically take the majority of your classes (10–11 credit hours) from A-B Tech and only one class (2–3 credit hours) per semester from WCU. Your full financial aid will be disbursed from A-B Tech, and then you will make a payment to WCU. The A-B Tech Financial Aid Office works with the WCU Financial Aid Office to defer your WCU payment at the start of each semester, so you won't be dropped from the WCU class for non-payment.

When you finish your Associate’s degree after three years at A-B Tech, you will transfer to WCU. At that point, all your financial aid should be disbursed through WCU.
