Tax Information for Students

Billing Time Period

The 1098-T form shows the qualified tuition and fees that were paid (not billed) during the calendar year.

When to View the Form

1098-T forms are posted to students' Self-Service accounts around the end of January each year. We don't send the form out by mail, but it can be printed from Self-Service.

How to View the Form

After logging in to Self-Service, click "Tax Information”. Before viewing or printing the form, you must first select “Receive my 1098 only in electronic format” (if you haven’t already done so in past years) and click the "Save" button. You only need to provide your electronic consent once.

Bookstore Purchases

The 1098-T form does not include Bookstore purchases. If books were purchased with financial aid, you can view a receipt in Self-Service. More information about how to access this can be found at the page below:

Tuition Receipts

Additionally, the Bookstore can print out receipts for any past bookstore purchases made with financial aid funds. The bookstore does not have record of past purchases that were not made with financial aid funds. If you can't find a bookstore receipt from a past purchase, we recommend checking with your bank (if the payment was made by card or check) to see if they can provide documentation of the purchase.

Continuing Education Classes

Tuition billed or paid for Continuing Education classes is not included on the 1098-T form, since these classes are not tax-exempt. This applies to Nurse Aide 1 (CNA) classes.
