Distance Advising and Learning

Information about distance advising and the distance learning options

Distance Advising for Curriculum Students

A-B Tech has a Distance Advisor who assists students who do not live in the Asheville area (two or more hours away) and are therefore not able to visit our campus to meet with an advisor. Our Distance Advisor generally provides assistance to students who are not yet enrolled in a program ("Unclassified" students) and can be reached at distanceadvising@abtech.edu. Generally speaking, distance students who have been assigned a Program/Faculty Advisor should contact their Program/Faculty Advisor by phone or email for advising assistance.

Distance Learning for Continuing Education Students

A-B Tech partners with the national firm Ed2Go to offer skill-enriching classes online for your convenience. These high quality, instructor-led courses begin monthly and can be accessed from any computer.

You can see what course options are available at ed2go.com/abtech.  If you have questions about online Community Enrichment courses, contact Jo Stahle, at (828) 398-7369 or ellenjstahle@abtech.edu. With questions about Workforce/Occupational Training online programs, contact Patrycja Manning, at (828) 398-7933 or patrycjaamanning@abtech.edu.

Distance Learning and Residency

A-B Tech is a member of the NC-SARA, which allows students from participating states to enroll in online distance education classes. On the abtech.edu/distance page of our website, the states are listed in which students can enroll in online classes at A-B Tech. If you have any questions about residency, please contact our Admissions Office directly at admissions@abtech.edu.
