Information on the verification process when applying for financial aid
Because every FAFSA can't be checked for accuracy, the U.S. Department of Education has set up the verification process as a "checks and balances" system. If your application is chosen, you'll receive an email (to your student email account) requesting additional documentation. You will be able to see the required documentation listed in your Self-Service account.
You'll need to provide this documentation to the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible so we can determine your eligibility for financial assistance. We can't determine your eligibility for financial assistance until all of your requested documentation has been turned in.
Many of the forms required during the verification process can be obtained from our website. Visit abtech.edu/financial-aid, then "Forms and Resources" on the side.
More information about the Financial Aid Office's Document Submission Policy is available on our website.
To check on the status of your financial aid, please view your financial aid status online in your Self-Service account.
