Federal Work-Study Program
Overview of the Federal Work-Study programand how to apply
Work-Study is a program that allows you to have a job on campus (or in some instances off campus) to earn a portion of financial aid. Awards range up to $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester), and the awards are paid monthly by check based on how many hours you worked. You may not exceed 20 hours per week. For information about work-study, go to abtech.edu/financial-aid. Then select "Work-Study" from the links on the left side of the screen.
On-campus jobs may be located at the main campus, Enka campus, or Madison site. Job duties vary by position. Currently, the pay rate for on-campus positions is $12.00 per hour.
Off-campus jobs are available through the America Reads tutoring program, helping children with reading skills. There are also off-campus jobs available at the Habitat for Humanity Home store. The current pay rate for off-campus positions is $15.00 per hour.
Information about applying to Work-Study positions is available on our website.
You are not guaranteed a work-study position. Placement depends on job availability, your qualifications, and program funding.
Work-study supervisors are required to submit the work-study student's timesheet directly to Joseph Loughmiller in the Financial Aid Office.
