Overview of the Academic Fresh Start Program
Academic Fresh Start (sometimes called "grade forgiveness") is available if you haven't attended A-B Tech for three years. Upon re-enrolling, you must maintain a 2.0 GPA for a minimum of 12 semester hours in order to qualify.
If you meet this criteria, you can petition to have grades on all prior course work more than three years old with a grade lower than a "C” excluded in calculating your cumulative GPA. Grades below "C” disregarded in calculating the GPA will not count toward graduation, but they will remain on your transcript.
To apply for Academic Fresh Start, you must complete an Academic Fresh Start application after the end of the semester in which you complete the 12 required semester hours. To request an application, please email registrar@abtech.edu from your student email account. If you plan to transfer to another College, you'll need to contact that institution to determine the impact of Academic Fresh Start on your transfer.
Note: Please be aware that Academic Fresh Start will not affect your Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress.
