To log in to WebAdvisor, scroll over "Online Services" at the top right of our homepage, select "WebAdvisor" from the drop-down menu, then click “Log In” at the top of the WebAdvisor page. Your username is typically your first name, middle initial, and last name (20 characters max.) without any spaces or punctuation. If you didn't provide A-B Tech with a middle name when you completed the application to the College, your username should be just your first name and last name. Your password is your birthdate in six digits (MMDDYY). For example, if your birthdate were Feb. 1, 1989, your password would be 020189. To log in to Moodle, scroll over "Online Services" at the top right of our homepage and select "Moodle" from the drop-down menu. You can also click "Moodle" at the bottom of any page of our website, or type moodle.abtech.edu into your web browser. Your username and password are the same as for your WebAdvisor account (see information above). If you are unable to log in, refer to the "Common Login Issues" paragraph below. If you are still unable to log in, contact our IT HelpDesk at firstname.lastname@example.org or (828) 398-7550.
To log in to your A-B Tech student email account, scroll over "Online Services" at the top right of our homepage and select "Student Email" from the drop-down menu. Your username is typically your full email address, which includes your first name, middle initial, and last name (all lowercase and without any punctuation or spaces) plus “@students.abtech.edu” (for example, "email@example.com"). Your initial password is either your seven-digit student ID number or the number zero (0) plus your seven-digit student ID number. If you updated your email password and can't remember it, you can reset it by contacting our IT HelpDesk at firstname.lastname@example.org or (828) 398-7550.
Common Login Issues
We strongly recommend not attempting to access your WebAdvisor or Moodle accounts using a smartphone or tablet.
The most common login typos/mistakes are:
- Accidentally capitalizing the first letter in your username (which happens automatically on a phone or tablet)
- Including the "19" or "20" in the birth year instead of just the last two digits
- Including the slashes in your birthdate
When Accounts Are Created
Your student accounts are usually created within one business day after your application to A-B Tech. If you're a returning/former A-B Tech student who attended prior to summer 2007, you may not have these accounts. In that case, you could submit a new application to automatically generate these accounts.
Change WebAdvisor/Moodle Password
If you would like to change your password for WebAdvisor/Moodle, you can use our password change utility at abtech.edu/password. Detailed instructions for changing your password for WebAdvisor/Moodle are available in a separate article.
