Information on the public transportation that's available to and from A-B Tech
City Bus Service
Asheville Redefines Transport (ART) provides bus service throughout the City of Asheville and to the Town of Black Mountain. These buses have 16 routes running from around 5:30 a.m. to about 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The ART Station is located at 49 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville (next to the U.S. Post Office). This office can provide you with the latest maps and schedules, help you with monthly or annual pass purchases, and answer any questions you have about riding the bus in Asheville. This information can be found by visiting ashevillenc.gov/department/transit/
A-B Tech students may purchase monthly bus passes for a discounted rate. More information about purchasing student bus passes is available in a separate article.
The following ART routes serve the A-B Tech Asheville (Victoria Rd) campus:
Trailblazer - Option for Students Off the ART Bus Route
Trailblazer service, through Mountain Mobility, will connect students from several outlying areas to the ART routes. This service is available to anyone who wants to ride. Routes, instructions to sign up, and other information is available on the Buncombe County website.
Paratransit Service
The City of Asheville partners with Mountain Mobility to provide paratransit service for people with disabilities, along all ART routes. More information about the services provided by Mountain Mobility can be found at: buncombecounty.org/governing/depts/transportation.
Shuttle to Mission Hospital
Mission Hospital operates a shuttle between the hospital and the parking lot just below A-B Tech's Sunnicrest Building (#11 on the campus map). As you go up the drive to Sunnicrest, this parking lot is on the left. It is Lot A-10 on the campus map. Mission calls it the "Dogwood Parking Lot." You can ask for details in the office that’s located in the parking lot.
