Time to Process Financial Aid

Length of time to process a financial aid application

Timeframe

It can take about four–six weeks to process a financial aid application, and possibly longer during peak times. Loan applications can take an additional two–four weeks to process.

Notifications

Be sure to watch your student email and Self-Service account and send back any documentation requested as soon as possible. To view the status of your financial aid, log in to Self-Service and click "Financial Aid." Your application cannot be processed until all the necessary documentation has been received by the Financial Aid Office. These files are reviewed in the order in which all requested documents are received.

Also, remember that you must declare a major to be eligible for financial aid. When you declare a major, please contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaidoffice@abtech.edu to let them know so they can continue processing your FAFSA.

When your award has been processed, an award letter will be posted on your Self-Service account.
