How to prepare for and schedule the HiSET® or GED® test 

Overview

We offer free instructional services to help you prepare for the HiSET® or GED® test. For more information, please see abtech.edu/adult-ed, email AdultEd@abtech.edu or call (828) 398-7433.

Orientation will be your first step in getting started. At your orientation session, you'll be able to take an initial placement assessment.

Online Preparation

You can study for the HiSET® or GED® test online. After completing your online study, the actual test must be taken in person on the Asheville campus or one of our A-B Tech satellite locations. 

Classroom Preparation

Morning and evening options are available. The Transitional Studies department is in Hemlock Building (#20 on our campus map). Their hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

GED Preparation in Spanish

Free online, morning, and evening classes are also available for native Spanish speakers who want to prepare for the HiSET® or GED® test in Spanish. Keep in mind that these tests cannot be taken online; beware of websites and other sources that tell you otherwise.
