Financial Aid Verification

Financial Aid Verification

Summary

Information on the verification process when applying for financial aid

Overview

Because every FAFSA can't be checked for accuracy, the U.S. Department of Education has set up the verification process as a "checks and balances" system. If your application is chosen, you'll receive an email (to your student email account) requesting additional documentation. You will be able to see those documents listed in your Self-Service account.

You'll need to provide this documentation to the Financial Aid Office in the Bailey Student Services Building (#5 on our campus map) as soon as possible so we can determine your eligibility for financial assistance. We can't determine your eligibility for financial assistance until all of your requested documentation has been turned in.

Verification Forms

Many of the forms required during the verification process can be obtained from our website. From abtech.edu, click on "Financial Aid" at the top of the page, then "Forms and Resources" on the side.

It is strongly recommended that you submit forms in person to the A-B Tech Financial Aid Office. If this isn't possible, you can email documents to Financial Aid. Be sure to include a cover sheet and follow the documentation submission policy if you don't bring the forms in person. A cover sheet can be downloaded from the "Forms and Resources" page.

To check on the status of your financial aid, please visit the Financial Aid Office in the Bailey Student Services Building, or view your financial aid status online in your Self-Service account.
