Glossary of Terms

Glossary is usually defined as an alphabetical list of technical terms in some specialized field of knowledge. This InfoBase glossary provides a collection of InfoBase documents that define many technical terms. These terms are arranged alphabetically, but you can quickly jump to a specific term by selecting its first letter from the index of the InfoBase glossary below.

Bachelor’s Degree
An undergraduate degree awarded for a course of study that generally lasts four years. A-B Tech does not currently offer Bachelor’s Degrees, but only Associate Degrees, Certificates, and Diplomas.
BFIT (Basic Firefighter Indoctrination Training)
A program within our Continuing Education division that’s designed to train and prepare students to take the Firefighter II Certification Exam for North Carolina.
A-B Tech’s Bookstore is located in the K. Ray Bailey Student Services Building on the Asheville Campus. Students may purchase textbooks, school supplies, A-B Tech merchandise, convenience/grab-and-go food, and items of special interest.
