Glossary of Terms

Glossary is usually defined as an alphabetical list of technical terms in some specialized field of knowledge. This InfoBase glossary provides a collection of InfoBase documents that define many technical terms. These terms are arranged alphabetically, but you can quickly jump to a specific term by selecting its first letter from the index of the InfoBase glossary below.

Unclassified Student
A student enrolling in classes for personal interest with no plans to complete a certificate, diploma or degree. New Curriculum students are automatically considered Unclassified until they officially declare a major. Unclassified students are not eligible for financial aid and may need special permission for certain classes.
Unofficial Transcript
An unofficial record of a student’s academic history that contains all courses taken at A-B Tech. Unofficial transcripts can be viewed and printed through an active student’s A-B Tech Self-Service account. An unofficial transcript is not stamped and/or marked “Official” and is not enclosed in a sealed envelope. Most colleges require an Official Transcript for transferring credits.
Unsubsidized Loan
A loan for which the borrower is fully responsible for paying the interest regardless of the loan status. Interest on unsubsidized loans accrues from the date of disbursement and continues throughout the life of the loan.
