North Carolina Residency
Residency Determination Service
As of October 23, 2017, residency is no longer determined by our Admissions Office. Keep in mind that this means the Admissions Office does not have the ability to override or change a student's residency status. All new students and returning students who have not taken classes for two semesters (excluding summers) will need to complete the Residency Determination Service (RDS) to establish their residency status. The basic application to A-B Tech will direct students to complete RDS as a part of the application.
If you have questions about RDS, contact their call center at (844) 319-3640 or email rdsinfo@ncresidency.org.
Where to Find Your RCN Number
If you have already provided your number to A-B Tech, it can be found in WebAdvisor. Log in to your WebAdvisor account, select "Curriculum Students", then select "Verify/Change My Contact Information". You will see your number, the expiration date, and your tuition status (either "in state" or "out of state").
