What is the HiSET? 

The HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) is a national high school equivalency test from ETS (Educational Testing Service). It is an alternative to the GED test. More information about the HiSET can be found on the ETS website at hiset.ets.org.

Will A-B Tech accept HiSET as a high school equivalency?

Yes, A-B Tech will accept HiSet as a substitute for a high school diploma or GED.

On the A-B Tech online application for admission, the "Education History" asks if you have received a high school equivalency or adult high school diploma. If you took the HiSET exam, select "High School Equivalency Diploma" in this section of the A-B Tech application.  

Can I prepare for the HiSET at A-B Tech?

Yes, A-B Tech does offer test preparation for the HiSET.

Can I take the HiSET at A-B Tech?

Yes, A-B Tech now offers HiSET testing. Please call (828) 398-7433 for more information.

Where else can I take the HiSET?

You can search for HiSET testing centers on the ETS website at hiset.ets.org. From that page, select "For Test Takers," and then select "Schedule" at the top of the page. Scroll down to "Find a Location" and select "Find Test Centers." From there, you can search for test center locations and times.

How can I get my HiSET scores?

For help accessing your scores, you must contact the testing center where you took the HiSET. More information about viewing, ordering, and understanding your scores can be found at hiset.ets.org/scores/overview.

Am I eligible to take the HiSET?

Each state has their own HiSET requirements, and not all states offer the HiSET at this time. For more information about the requirements for a particular state, go to hiset.ets.org/requirements.
