Developmental Courses and Financial Aid

Developmental Courses and Financial Aid

Summary

Financial aid available for developmental courses

Eligibility Overview

In most cases, developmental courses for math, reading, and English can be covered by financial aid. According to the Department of Education, eligible students are able to receive federal financial aid for up to 30 credit hours of developmental courses.

The grades that students earn for developmental classes are included in the way the Financial Aid Office calculates a student's GPA. This is part of our Satisfactory Academic Progress policy, which is a requirement for being eligible for financial aid. However, developmental courses are not factored into the institutional GPA that appears on students' transcripts.
