Help with filling out a FAFSA

FAFSA by Appointment

You can sign up for a one-on-one appointment for help with filling out your FAFSA. These are 15-30 minute appointments, and you can expect to have a completed FAFSA at the end of the meeting. Appointments are currently held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Our Financial Aid Office is in the Bailey Student Services Building, located at the main Asheville campus at 340 Victoria Road.

You can book an appointment by going to abtech.edu/financial-aid and then clicking on FAFSA by Appointment on the left.

For the 2016-17 FAFSA, you'll need to bring your completed 2015 Tax Returns and W-2's for both yourself and your parent (if you're considered a dependent student), Social Security Number, and driver's license or state ID. (The tax documents are not necessary, but are extremely helpful when applying for financial aid. If you have these documents available please bring them to your appointment.)

Disability Income

Disability income does not count toward yearly income on the FAFSA application.

Unemployment Income

When filling out your FAFSA, any income from unemployment benefits should be counted as income for the year.
