Overview

In selected programs, we provide students with an opportunity to integrate classroom learning with supervised work experience in an employment situation directly related to the student's educational program. The primary objective of work-based learning is to prepare the student for employment.

To be eligible to participate in a cooperative work experience activity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be enrolled in a curriculum program that provides a cooperative education option
  • Have a minimum cumulative program GPA of 2.0
  • Have completed required course prerequisites
  • Have completed a minimum of nine semester credit hours within the appropriate program of study
  • Obtain approval by the department chairperson

Any exceptions to these requirements must be approved by the appropriate academic dean.
